Our philosophy
At Excelsior Academic we believe in nurturing the potential of our students through a growth-minded rather than a fixed-minded approach to pedagogy. We serve a large population of adult learners, so part of our job is to help instill confidence in students who may have been away from an academic environment for many years. Our adjuncts are sensitive, caring individuals who genuinely care about the success of our students.
We attempt to live the words of our company’s motto, Ad Astra per Aspera, which is Latin for “through adversity to the stars.” The name of our company, Excelsior, is another Latin word, and it translates to “onward and upward.” Our approach to teaching focuses on the ascent of our students to greater success and learning.
